Katherine Spitz
for Waukesha County Circuit Court - Branch 11
Experienced. Principled. Prepared to Serve.
For nearly twenty years, Katherine D. Spitz has represented private and public clients in Wisconsin’s state and federal courts. That experience — as both a civil litigator and a neutral who helps parties resolve disputes outside the courtroom — is exactly what prepares her to serve Waukesha County as a circuit court judge.
Kate believes a judge’s job is to apply the law, not rewrite it. She will respect the separation of powers established by our federal and Wisconsin constitutions, and she will never legislate from the bench. Her rulings will rest on the text of the governing law and the facts of the case — not on personal policy preferences or on what anyone believes the law “ought to be.” Every litigant who comes before Kate will be treated fairly, whatever their age, sex, color, creed, economic circumstances, or political affiliation.

She volunteers her time as a board member for several legal organizations, including the Waukesha County Bar Association, and frequently speaks to groups about topics related to civil litigation and dispute resolution.
